It should not be allowed to release so much great music in such a short timespan. It is though, and behold Aara pulling it off: casually releasing the most majestic trilogy I can recall in the span of three years, each release surpassing its predecessor. Nyx is the crown jewel of the saga, operating at breakneck speed with just a few moments of respite, yet still keeping the focus on the melody and Fluss' impeccable vocals as well as sporting a musical elegance untold. Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ
